Opened in 1954, the Fontainebleau was once considered the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach. Besides being the setting for Jerry Lewis’ 1960 comedy film, The Bellboy and being featured in the James Bond flick Goldfinger, the Fontainebleau was where Frank Sinatra videotaped a special on March 26, 1960 to welcome back Elvis Presley from his two years of military service in Germany, which was then broadcast on May 12, 1960.
The Fontainebleau is also the title of a song written by Neil Young and performed by the Stills-Young Band on their 1976 album Long May You Run, which was recorded at the hotel.
