Former Location, now called the Charles M. Schulz Theatre –

In 1971 Walter Knott, who was good friends with John Wayne, loved that they shared the same personal values, so he named the 2,150 seat Knott’s Berry Farm theater, “John Wayne Theater.”

On July 14, 1973 at the John Wayne Theater, the Everly Brothers played the last concert of their career before breaking up. It’s said that Phil smashed his guitar and stalked off stage, leaving Don to announce their breakup.

Other acts have graced the stage here including: Frankie Avalon, The Lettermen, Johnny Rivers, the Staple Singers, Rick Nelson & The Stone Canyon Band and “Weird Al” Yankovic.
