Breakaway Album Cover

The album cover for Art Garfunkel’s second album “Breakaway” was shot by Norman Seeff at Dan Tana’s Restaurant in Hollywood. The album was released by Columbia Records on October 14, 1975.

The woman on the left is Helena Kallianiotes, a Greek-American actress, the woman on the right is Laurie Bird, an American actress and photographer who was romantically involved with Art Garfunkel. Laurie committed suicide in the apartment she shared with Art by taking an overdose of Valium on June 15, 1979 at the age of 25.

The track, “My Little Town” can also be found on Paul Simon’s fourth studio solo album “Still Crazy After All These Years” which was released by Columbia on October 25, 1975.
