Former Location –
The actual Morrison Hotel is where the cover of The Doors’ fifth studio album,”Morrison Hotel” was shot in 1969 by famous rock and roll photographer Henry Diltz.
The rear cover features a photograph of the Hard Rock Café on 300 East 5th Street, Los Angeles.
The Doors recorded the album at Elektra Records in November of 1969. Morrison Hotel has two separately titled sides; Side One: “Hard Rock Cafe” and side two: “Morrison Hotel“. The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200.
