Besides being famous for scenes from “Rebel Without A Cause“, and Laserium, the Griffith Observatory’s western staircase was used to shoot the cover of The Byrds ninth album, “Untitled” which was released in September 1970 on Columbia Records.
On September 12, 2010, Linkin Park had a short concert for about 1,000 fans at the Observatory. Their song “The Catalyst” from this gig was later shown by MTV’s Video Music Awards.
