Wish You Were Here CoverPink Floyd’s 1975 “Wish You Were Here” album cover was shot here. And yes, that guy really was on fire, it was not added later. This was Floyd’s ninth studio album and was released on September 13, 1975 in the U.S. by Columbia Records.

Wish You Were Here is on Rolling Stone’s 2003 list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

This was also the location for the cover of Petula Clark’s album “These are My Songs” which came out in 1967 and contains the hit “Don’t Sleep In The Subway“.

On the inner sleeve, a photo taken by Storm Thorgerson called “The Diver”,  features a man diving into a lake, creating no ripples. The photo was taken at Mono Lake, California, the effect was created by the diver performing a handstand underwater until the ripples dissipated.
