The album cover for the Stray Cats’ “Built For Speed” LP was shot in the front of the Wantagh Auto Body Shop by Gavin Cochrane. Built For Speed was the bands first U.S. album.
The album is a compilation of 11 songs taken from their first two UK albums – six from Stray Cats, released in February of 1981 and five from Gonna Ball , released in November 1981 along with the title track, “Built for Speed” which was a new release.

I doubt the photo is taken at Wantagh Auto Body. The Wantagh Auto Body building was the original Wantagh Fire Department building.
I spoke to Lee Rocker, he said it was a place on Brooklyn Blvd in Massapequa
