“Live at Max’s Kansas City” was recorded live by the Velvet Underground at Max’s Kansas City on August 23, 1970. The front of Max’s, which has since closed, is used on the cover. The album was released on May 30, 1972 by Cotillion, a subsidiary of Atlantic Records.
