Miles of Aisles

Miles of Aisles” is the first live album by Joni Mitchell. All tracks except two were recorded at the Gibson Amphitheater which was then known as the Universal Amphitheatre on August 14 to 17, 1974.

The album cover was shot at the Pine Knob Music Theatre, now known as DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan. The album was released in November 1974 on Asylum.

The concerts were in support of her “Court and Spark” album. Miles of Aisles became one of Joni’s best selling records and was certified gold record by the RIAA.

The song “Cactus Tree” was recorded at the Los Angeles Music Center on March 4, and “Real Good for Free” at the Berkeley Community Theater on March 2.
