Buried here:

Randy Rhoads

On March 19, 1982, while touring with Ozzy Osbourne, Randy boarded a small plane (a Beechcraft Bonanza) at the request of the tour bus driver / pilot Andrew Aycock.

The plane buzzed the tour bus (i.e. flew low over it) twice successfully. On a third attempt, the wing clipped the bus, the plane spiraled, clipped a pine tree, and crashed into the garage of a nearby mansion on the property. All three aboard (Rhoads, Aycock, and Rachel Youngblood) were killed instantly.

Their bodies were burned beyond recognition and later identified by dental records.

Post‑mortem investigation revealed that Aycock’s medical certificate had expired and his biennial flight review was overdue. Also, traces of cocaine were found in his system; in contrast, Randy’s toxicology showed only nicotine (no illicit drugs)
