Big Joe Turner
He earned his greatest fame in the 1950s with his pioneering rock and roll recordings, particularly “Shake, Rattle and Roll“.
Joe died of a heart attack on November 24, 1985 at the age of 73.
George “Pops” Chambers
Pops was the bassist and a founding member of the psychedelic-soul band “The Chamber Brothers” who are best remembered for their Vietnam War era song “The Time Has Come Today, ” an 11 minute tour de force song written by his brothers Joe and Willie Chambers. The single reached number 11 on the American Pop Charts in 1968. The song has been used in several films and TV programs keeping it alive in the public conscience.
Pops died on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the age of 88.
