Buried here:
Bradley James Nowell
Bradley was the lead singer and guitarist of Sublime. He overdosed on heroin at the Oceanview Motel in San Francisco on May 25, 1996 at the age of 28. A headstone was placed here and his ashes were scattered over his favorite surfing spot in Surfside, California.
Each year on the anniversary of his death, fans and family visit his “grave” (i.e. memorial site) at Westminster Memorial Park.
In a 2018 OC Weekly article, his memorial site is described in poetic detail, with references to “the site holding a portion of Nowell’s ashes” and fans leaving items at the headstone.
