Lew Soloff

Lew was a trumpet player best remembered as an original member of “Blood, Sweat and Tears“. His solo on their hit “Spinning Wheel” from 1969 is legendary.

During his time with “Blood, Sweat and Tears” (from 1968 until 1973), he earned a Grammy Award for his contribution to their 1969 self-titled album which was named “Album of the Year” in 1970.

Lew died at the age of 71 on March 8, 2015 due to a heart attack.
