Bill Chase
Bill was a Jazz musician that started to mix jazz with rock in his band called Chase. Chase had hit singles with “Get It On“ and “Open Up Wide
“ which featured four trumpet players including Bill.
While on tour and en route to a scheduled performance at the Jackson County Fair, he and keyboardist Wally Yohn, drummer Walter Clark and guitarist John Emma all died in a plane crash on August 9, 1974.
Bill was just 39 years old at the time of his death.
