Johnnie Clyde Johnson

Johnnie played piano on many early Chess Records recordings most notably with Chuck Berry. He played on such hits as “Rock and Roll Music” and “Roll Over Beethoven.” One of Berry’s best known songs, “Johnny B. Goode,” was written as a salute to him.”

Johnnie died of natural causes on April 13, 2005 at the age of 80.

Oliver Sain

Oliver was a saxophonist, songwriter, bandleader and record producer. He wrote “Don’t Mess up a Good Thing“, a number one hit in the US for Bobby McClure in 1965. The song was later covered by Gregg Allman.

Oliver died of bone cancer on October 28 2003 at the age of 71.
