John Hartford

John was a fiddle player/writer who wrote the standard “Gentle on My Mind” which won three Grammy Awards and was listed in “BMI’s Top 100 Songs of the Century.

John died of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma on June 4, 2001 at the age of 63.

Floyd Cramer

Floyd was one of the most sought after session musicians in Nashville. He played on sessions with Roy Orbison, the Everly Brothers, Patsy Cline, Perry Como, Chet Atkins, Boots Randolph, Owen Bradley and Elvis Presley.

Floyd died of lung cancer on December 31, 1997 at the age of 64.

Pete Drake

Pete was a world-class pedal steel guitarist and the man behind hundreds of country, rock and pop music hits. He recorded with Jerry Reed, Joe South, Elvis Presley, George Harrison, Bob Dylan and many others.

Pete played on hits by artists such as Lynn Anderson’s “Rose Garden“, Charlie Rich’s “Behind Closed Doors“‘ Bob Dylan’s “Lay Lady Lay“‘ and Tammy Wynette’s “Stand by Your Man“.

Pete died of emphysema on July 29, 1988 at the age of 55.
