Gene Clark
Gene was a member of the New Christy Minstrels before he co-founded The Byrds along with Roger McGuinn whom he met at The Troubadour. He wrote “Feel A Whole Lot Better” and “Eight Miles High”.
Gene had a moderately successful solo career and he played with many folk/rock musicians of the time including a brief collaboration with Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman that released the hit album “McGuinn, Clark & Hillman” in 1979. The album went on to reach #39 on the Billboard 200.
On May 24, 1991, Gene died of natural causes attributed to a bleeding ulcer. He was 46 years old.
