Former Location –
On October 4, 1970 at the age of 27, Janis Joplin overdosed on heroin in room 105 of what was then the Landmark Hotel. She had been partying the previous night at the Troubadour and Barney’s Beanery.
The room in which Janice spent her final hours can still be rented. The closet contains a small brass plaque that commemorates her life, and the walls are heavily decorated with fan art and writings to her and about her.

Janis Joplin is my hero!!!!!!!!!!! I absolutely love this lady
i miss you, but never have met you, you were free spirited,i was just a thought, you are a true legend in your own time, and you still are, if more people could be like us.the world would be a better place, in 1971 i was born, i grew up blind, i could not understand such cruelties in life, i watch your videos, and drown myself in your music,i feel your pain janis, i even cry when i listen to your songs, you are so beautiful,i was so ugly , you have taught me true love and peace, and love one another, i love you janis and i miss you now that i see clearly r.i.p the most beautiful woman in the world.
Love of My LIfe
She sings to me to this day, listen to her lyrics, she says babe, but often she says Bear. Move Over, Turtle Blues, and others. She was a tough, wonderful, confused, free spirit, and she still is, only now she is truly free, and is completely constantly bathed with the love that she always yearned for, for she is with our Creator in the ultimate place for peace and love, paradise, believe me I know. It is the condition of your heart that is the entrance ticket, and this woman showed us one of the most loving hearts that ever lived. I love you Janis Lyn, see you soon. Sugar Bear.
