Ray Charles Robinson (Ray Charles): A legendary American singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer, known for shaping soul music by fusing rhythm & blues, gospel, and blues was born on September 23, 1930.
He died on June 10, 2004 at this his home, surrounded by family and friends. He was 73 years old. Ray is buried at the Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.
Before his death, he had struggled with various health issues, including liver disease and pulmonary problems. His death was from liver disease complications.
Beverly Hills, especially with ZIP 90212, is one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in Los Angeles County. The house on South Linden Drive was his private residence.
