Tim Buckley

Born Timothy Charles Buckley III on February 14, 1947, Tim Buckley died in the emergency room here at Santa Monica Hospital (now known as Berkley East Convalescent Hospital) on June 29th, 1975 at the age of 28 from a heroin overdose, leaving behind his sons Taylor Buckley and Jeff Buckley.

Tim did not find commercial success during his lifetime, but he is admired by later generations for his musicianship and voice. Besides his solo work, he also played with Van Morrison, Paul Simon, Frank Zappa, Leonard Cohen, Jackson Browne and James Taylor.

Tim’s ashes were given to a family member after his cremation.
