Jeff Buckley was the son of another singer/songwriter, Tim Buckley and is probably best known for his cover of Leonard Cohen’s song “Hallelujah“

On May 29, 1997 Jeff was waiting for his band to arrive and decided to take a swim in the Wolf River when he was caught in the wake of a passing boat. His body was not found until June 4, he was 30 years old.

His autopsy showed no signs of drugs or alcohol in his system, and the death was ruled as an accidental drowning.
