McCabe’s is one of the oldest guitar stores in the Los Angeles area dating back to 1958, when it was founded by Gerald McCabe. Shows are in an intimate, back room. The place is covered with guitars, banjos, and other stringed instruments.
Over the decades, McCabes has grown beyond a retail store as it serves as an instrument retailer, repair shop, music school, and a live music venue.
The shop specializes in acoustic and folk instruments: guitars, banjos, mandolins, dulcimers, ukuleles, fiddles, ethnic string and percussion instruments, and also some electrics, amps, and accessories.
The back-room concert space seats about 150 people and is widely considered one of the most intimate and respected listening rooms in L.A.
