The shop is led by David Neely, a seasoned luthier and instrument technician with a rich history in guitar repair, modification, and custom builds.
David Neely began his custom-instrument work in 1974, helping build test models for Gibson.
He started his own custom shop in Nashville in the mid-1970s, then relocated to Los Angeles in 1984.
The shop positions itself as “factory-authorized Gold Level Service” for major guitar brands (Martin, Gibson, Fender, Taylor, Gretsch, Guild) — meaning they’ve earned credentials to perform high-level repairs and restorations.
They build custom instruments from scratch and/or heavily modify existing guitars to the specific needs of players. From wood selection to electronics, acoustics and stage vs studio use.
The shop has an impressive list of clients (past & present) across genres and levels of fame including: Keanu Reeves, Joe Bonamassa, H.E.R, Paul McCartney, Tosin Abasi, Ry Cooder, Stephen Stills, Larry Carlton and Bob Dylan.”
