In early 1968, Peter Tork found a house for sale that had been owned by comedian Wally Cox, in Studio City. Peter was looking to move from a nearby home as it was too small to accommodate the friends of friends that had been showing up, much like what happened to Frank Zappa, except with Peter, the partying kept going at this new home.
Some of the Rock N Roll Royalty that spent time here included: George Harrison, Ringo Starr, members of The Hollies as well as The Who, Stephen Stills, Buddy Miles, John Sebastian, and a few of the Buffalo Springfield.
The home is where Crosby, Stills & Nash first began their early rehearsals and subsequent appearance at Woodstock.
In the early 70’s, Peter, tired of the non-stop partying, sold the house to Stephen Stills and moved into the downstairs of David Crosby’s house.
The house was also used by the Rolling Stones in October & November 1969 for rehearsals.
