Please Do Not Disturb Current Residents!
This was Jack White’s home, where the White Stripes recorded their fifth album Get Behind Me Satan on the house’s staircase. The album was the follow-up to their double platinum album Elephant and was released on June 7, 2005, on V2 Records.
Behind Me Satan saw the White Stripes move away from guitar-driven rock of their previous albums in favor of more experimental music with piano, mandolin and marimba. The album received the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2006, beating out Arcade Fire for “Funeral”; Beck for “Guero”; Death Cab for Cutie for “Plans” and Franz Ferdinand for “You Could Have It So Much Better.”
Jack sold the home to the current owners in 2006.
