This house which was originally built by a scion of the Spreckels sugar fortune, and was later owned by Graham Nash of Crosby Stills & Nash.
The house had a small recording studio in it where many of the early bay area rockers recorded demos and honed their craft. Quicksilver Messenger Service and the Steve Miller band made early recordings here.

This house used to be a bread and breakfast hotel, and I visited it then in 1986 (or 1987) and got my brother a reservation for his honeymoon. They stayed in the top floor (attic), which they enjoyed very much.
I believe that Mr Nash was the owner of the house next door (The green one on the left). My wife and I stayed there on our honeymoon in 1987. If you look at the roofline (between the two houses) on the green house you will see some glass and wood framing. That is the shower for the master bedroom.
