Hof Brau Hotel – First Performance Of “Rock Around The Clock”

Former Location –
On April 12, 1954 Bill Haley and the Comets first performed “(We’re Gonna) Rock Around the Clock” here. It went on to become a huge hit and is considered by many to be one of the first ever Rock and Roll recordings.

The song floundered until its inclusion in the movie “Blackboard Jungle,” which sparked a massive surge in popularity among teenagers prompting a re-release.
