Beatles At Deauville

Former Location –

On February 16, 1964, the Beatles taped their second appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show from the Napoleon Ballroom at the Deauville Resort.

The Beatles opened their live show with “She Loves You“, followed by “This Boy” and “All My Loving“, then returned later to close the show with “I Saw Her Standing There“, “From Me To You” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand“.

The special broadcast was seen by an estimated 70 million viewers nationwide, helping cement both Beatlemania and Miami Beach in pop-culture history.

During their stay, the Beatles rehearsed in the hotel and became a major local attraction, with long lines of fans outside. Their performance at the Deauville was part of a string of landmark appearances on Sullivan’s show that helped launch the British Invasion across the United States.

The Supremes also played here on January 27, 1968.

The decaying hotel was imploded the morning of November 13, 2022 after it was declared an unsafe structure.
