Former Location –
Now a Comfort Inn (boring!) it was once called Swingos and was home to one of the longest-running parties in rock ‘n’ roll history. Swingos took over the restaurant of what was then the Downtowner hotel in 1967. One day the owner got a call from a promoter wanting to book Elvis and his entourage which took over the entire hotel. Elvis made it his home away from home when on tour.
Led Zeppelin members turned it into their own private orgy site. It’s rumored that Cher and Kiss’ Gene Simmons made it a secret rendezvous spot. Cameron Crowe re-created it all in his movie “Almost Famous.”
