The Waltz was a bittersweet bash. generally signaling the end of the 60’s. I hitchhiked to the city, ‘accidentally’ ran into old friends from Laguna area. with an extra ticket (and a hotel room). party hearty. Neil a bit sloshed, hanging all over Joni on the stage. Graham scurrying around the place, helping set up the feast tables and whatnot. the music and star power presence was off the charts. only bad thing, afterward my friend’s roadie benefactor phoned up to our room to invite us over to Eric’s little after party , but my friend declined for god knows what reason. Probably too buzzed. Upon return to Santa Cruz the next day, read in the paper that the party had spilled over into the hotel ballroom, or such, and they jammed all night. Hi – ho !
