Griffith Observatory In Los Angeles – Site Of Jim Morrison Photoshoot

Griffith Observatory was the location of Paul Ferrara’s iconic 1968 photo shoot with Jim Morrison atop the observatory.

The Observatory has been used many times in Hollywood films, most notably in the 1955 James Dean classic, “Rebel Without A Cause”. Both Jim Morrison and Paul Ferrara were huge fans of James Dean so this photoshoot was an homage to that film.

Note that while you can walk the grounds, some vantage points (roofs or domes) might be off-limits; the original shoot might have had special access.
