The Kids Are Alright

The Who got comfy underneath a British flag for the poster for their “The Kids Are Alright” rockumentary film which was released on June 15, 1979. The boys are actually on a part of the Carl Schurz Monument which is located on 116th Street and Morningside Drive in Morningside Heights, New York City.

The film isn’t just footage of concerts as it’s widely regarded as an essential audio-visual history of the band up through 1978, including performances from major events like Woodstock. “The Kids Are Alright” is a song by The Who, written by Pete Townshend and originally appearing on their 1965 album My Generation.

Keith Moon died one week after he had seen an early rough cut of the film with Roger Daltrey.
