The park features a grand entrance and stairway adorned with Jimi’s signature at the corner of Massachusetts and 25th Avenue South in Seattle. Phase 1 of the park was completed in fall of 2016. Phase 2 which includes a central shelter was completed in June 2017.
The park is a testament to Hendrix’s work and legacy. The walkways form the outline of a guitar, and 12 “frets” in the instrument’s neck tell the timeline of Hendrix’s life.
The park was funded by various city funds and donations from the Nisqually Tribe and Janie Hendrix, stepsister of Jimi Hendrix.
