Former Location –
This was one of the last of the great record stores. Whenever musicians from around the world would come to the San Francisco Bay Area they would stop by here to pick up rare favorites.
The store closed on September 30, 2007. Here’s a quote from the owner, John Goddard :
“It is with no small amount of regret that I announce that 2007 will be Village Music’s final year. We will be closing on September 30, 2007, while the deciding factor in this decision has been rent levels necessary to maintain a business in mill valley, is only one of several reasons i’ve reached decision. basically – it’s time. had great time here for many years. things learned, people met, and ways which my musical horizons have expanded (and on some levels, solidified) probably major focus life 40 it been, most part, wonderful.”
