Former Location –

The Doors at London Fog
Once the coffee shop to the Tropicana, a motel previously next door where the record company would book you before you made them a lot of money, it was a rock and Roll hangout since the sixties.
The Doors played their first official club gig here in the early ’60s when it was a nightclub named London Fog.
Duke’s Coffee Shop closed permanently on April 16, 2012.

I’M SO FORTUNATE THAT I WAS THERE AT THE LONDON FOG AND SAW JIMMY MANY TIMES, ALSO AT THE GALAXY, GAZZARR’IS WHISKY, PEPPEERMINT, THERE WAS A CLUB I KIND REMEMBER IT WAS FULL OF PILLOWS INSIDE WE USE TO HANG OUT ON THEM. CAN’T FORGET THE FANTASTIC CHEETAH IN SANT MONICA.I THINK THE PALLADIUM, HAD SOMETHING LIKE MIDNIGHT REMEMBER SAY CANNED HEAT, GOING UP THE COUNTRY!! I LOVED THE KINKS AT THE WHISKY!!! I CAN KEEP GOING AND GOIING
You have placed The London Fog in the wrong loation. It was west of the Whiskey, west of Sneaky Pete’s, west of the Galaxy and east of Hamburger Hamlet. I remember it disappearing around 1967 or so. The building was redone or rebuilt with nice looking used brick and a new business, Dick Clark Productions.
