Former Location, from their website:
“After almost ten amazing years, we’ve decided that it’s time to close the book on this chapter of Terrapin Crossroads. We’re incredibly thankful for the staff, musicians, and community that made Terrapin special, and we hope that you’ll remember the past decade the same way that we do; with love, joy, and a deep sense of pride at what we all built together.”
Opened in 2012, Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads was a restaurant and music venue with a beautiful waterfront location along the canals of Central San Rafael in Marin County. It closed permanently when its lease expired in November 2021. The location consists of a 15,000-square-foot waterfront restaurant, that recently (early 2022) went on sale with an asking price of $4,990,000. That price also includes its 157-space parking lot, boat docks and exterior patio, as well as its kitchen and bar equipment and the Terrapin Crossroads sign.
They used to offer fresh, local, sustainable food with the goal of being a destination for artistic expression and exploration within the community. Visitors could find a farm-to-table American menu featuring salads, savory dishes, wood-fired pizzas, desserts and daily seasonal specials. They also served a variety of local wines, and had a unique microbrew and gourmet cocktail selection.
Terrapin Crossroads was also a music venue that featured state-of-the-art sound. The Grate Room presents live music of all types from Phil Lesh & Friends shows featuring world-class guest artists. Also, The Bar at Terrapin Crossroads offered an intimate musical experience, with weekly shows by the Terrapin Family Band.
