Eddie Cochran, Jan and Dean and The Chipmunks were on Liberty. The Chipmunks were named for Liberty executives Alvin Bennett, Simon Waronker, and Theodore Keep!

Other notable recording artists on Liberty were Henry Mancini, Billy Ward and his Dominoes, Canned Heat, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sugarloaf, The Ventures and Bobby Vee.

In 1971, Liberty Records was absorbed by United Artists Records and ceased to exist.
