Former Location –
Radio Recorders was known in the 1940’s and 1950’s for recording radio shows, both network and local on the East Coast and in the Mid-West for delayed broadcast to the Western states.
This was well before tape recording was introduced, so the recordings were made on and played back from lacquer-coated aluminum discs. Studio C handled the recordings they received from dozens of telephone lines to the most prominent stations and networks. The studio could handle several programs at once, 24 hours a day, and often with a single engineer on duty.
In its prime, Radio Recorders was also known as the best recording facility in Los Angeles.
