TTG Studios

Former Location –

TTG Studios is one of the most significant independent rock recording studios in Los Angeles. Founded in 1965 by audio engineers Amnon “Ami” Hadani and Tom Hidley, the studio became a creative hub for emerging rock, psychedelic, and experimental artists of the era.

One of the first studios in Los Angeles equipped with a 16-track tape recorder, custom-built by Tom Hidley, giving artists unprecedented flexibility for overdubs and multi-track production.

This is where the Doors recorded their third album, Waiting For The Sun. This is also the location that Frank Zappa‘s Freak Out and Hot Rats albums were recorded. Other famous stars to use this studio were Lowell George, The Monkees, Eric Burdon and Linda Ronstadt.

In October 1968, shortly after finishing Electric Ladyland, Hendrix and his collaborators booked Studio B and cut numerous sessions there, many of which were later released posthumously on compilations such as Rainbow Bridge and West Coast Seattle Boy.
