The Band by The Band

Please Do Not Disturb Current Occupants
After trying to record in a studio in New York which did not have the proper “vibe”, the Band set up a recording studio of sorts in the pool house of a home rented by them in the Hollywood Hills. The home was owned at the time by Sammy Davis, Jr.

According to Robbie Robertson, the home was chosen to give the songs a “Basement Tapes” feel.
