randy jackson and narada walden…
i hung out with randy jackson here a few times in the early eighties. he and michael narada walden were getting deep into production, making videos on the sound stage, cutting miscellaneous tracks, and playing out some with impromtu fusion band the Warriors. i had seen randy years earlier with billy cobham’s band at the great american music hall, & he’d played extensively with jon luc ponty and others, so he was a pretty formidable player and a big, imposing, dude – also a super warm, friendly, guy. the first time i met him he showed me his solo from ” rythms of hope. ” very cool…i still play it. yup, Automatt.
i remember the fantastic jukebox collection there at the automatt, and getting stoned with fee waybill in the snackroom kitchen.just coming back from stinson beach with great weed.
