St. Theodore of Canterbury, Location of Rush's First GigImage Via Google Maps

In August of 1968 Rush played their first paying gig in the basement of St. Theodore’s of Canterbury Anglican Church in Toronto, Canada. Their full band salary was $25!

The band members spread the word about their upcoming gig to their friends and acquaintances, they were able to draw in close to 30 people for the show. With that one live performance under their belts the band was propelled to future shows and eventual stardom.
