Former Location –
Formerly the Universal Amphitheater, this longtime venue has been a rock and roll landmark for over 30 years. Most any band that has played the LA rock scene has been here including: The Who, Elton John, Traffic, Joni Mitchell and Oingo Boingo.
Most of Joni Mitchell’s live album “Miles of Aisles“ was recorded here and the album cover was shot here as well.
It was also frequently used as the home for Comic Relief. Located at the top of Universal City, access can be gained from either Lankershim or Cahuenga.
The final performance held at the Gibson Amphitheatre was Pepe Aguilar on September 6, 2013.
