Sad to see it go….
That place held a lot of memories for me. I saw Sammy Davis Jr there with my parents in the 70’s
I also saw Sammy Davis Jr. there as well, and still have pictures/slides from that event (unless the negatives didn’t survive).
Spirit played here in late 1970. Great show just before Jay and Mark left the group to start Jo jo Gunne.
Spirit had a show in the round in late 1970. Played most of 12 dreams of Dr Sardonicus album!
We saw just about everybody there at that little theater with the rotating stage.
It was pure magic.
No computers or pyrotechnics.
Just guitars, amps, drums, and great songs.
We saw Spirit there in a New Year’s Eve.
Might have been the same 1970 concert others are talking about.
I’ll never forget that place or the music we were so fortunate to witness there.
I saw Beatrice Lilly and Tammy Grimes in a memorable performance of “High Spirits” at the Valley Music Theater. Lilly was the “Happy Medium”. Grimes sang ‘You called me back, but I may not stay.”
I saw Iron Butterfly and Love there in June of 1967
with my girlfriend. Great venue with the revolving stage.
Happy memories. No BS just good music for $3 a ticket ! Imagine.
