valley music theater posterThe Valley Music Theater was built in 1963 and was backed by entertainers Bob Hope and Art Linkletter, along with Cy Warner, who also designed, built and owned the Warner Playhouse in Hollywood.

Many rock bands played here in the 60’s and 70’s including but not limited to: The Doors, Buffalo Springfield, Canned Heat, Badfinger, Love, Iron Butterfly, The ByrdsIke & Tina TurnerB.B. King, Lou Rawls, Three Dog Night and Jim Croce.

In February of ’67, the Community Action For Fact And Freedom held a benefit concert here featuring The Byrds, Peter, Paul and Mary, Buffalo Springfield, The Doors and Hugh Masekela.

The venue was converted in to a Jehovah’s Witness center in the early 80’s and fell a victim to the wrecker’s ball in August of 2007.
