Originally built in 1967 to be the home of the National Symphony Orchestra, Merriweather was designed by the renowned architect Frank Gehry. It is known for the fantastic sound system, low stage and large video screens making this venue a favorite for both bands and fans alike.

On May 25, 1969, The Who & Led Zeppelin were on the same bill here. It’s been said that this was the only time the two bands were ever on the same bill together. It is also considered the place where Jimi Hendrix debuted his version of the Star Spangled Banner.
