The Onondaga County War Memorial is now known as The War Memorial Arena as a part of the Oncenter Complex in Syracuse, NY.
After recording Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, Derek and the Dominos headed back to America to start the US tour on October 15 1970. Allman performed two shows with the group near the end of their US tour at Curtis Hixon Hall, in Tampa, Florida, on December 1, 1970, here in Syracuse, New York, the following night.
The venue is also a prominent concert spot, having hosted dozens of acts including Elvis Presley, KISS, Bruce Springsteen, The Grateful Dead, Phish and Aerosmith among numerous others.
