Wingate Field is a large outdoor event/park space located in the Wingate neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, near Brooklyn Avenue, Winthrop Street, and Rutland Road, opposite Kings County Hospital in East Flatbush.
On August 14, 1990, Curtis Mayfield was struck and paralyzed by a lighting scaffold that fell during a windstorm in the middle of his concert.
