Constitution Hall
DAR Constitution Hall is Washington DC’s largest concert hall. The hall welcomes over half a million visitors a year. The Hall opened in 1929, and was designed to house the annual Daughters Of The American Revolution convention. It was designated a National Historic Landmark Building in 1985.
The hall seats 3,702 people, making it Washington, D.C.’s largest concert hall.
The seating layout is distinctive: 1,234 seats on the orchestra level, 2,208 in the tiers, and 52 boxes (each containing 5 seats) separating orchestra and tiers — including a box designated as “Presidential.”
The auditorium features a U-shaped balcony — an unusual design aimed to maximize seating while preserving good sight lines and acoustics.
Inside is a 3-manual, 40-rank Skinner pipe organ (Opus 757), reflecting the hall’s classical-music origins.
