The Las Vegas Convention Center was built in the late 1950s and featured a silver-dome rotunda with seating for about 6,300–7,000 people.
The Beatles played here for their second ever U.S. gig in a former building on August 20, 1964. They played two shows: a 4 p.m. matinee and a 9 p.m. evening show with roughly 8,000 fans at each show, about 16,000 total.
At the time of the Beatles concerts this structure was often simply called the Convention Hall or Silver Dome.
The Silver Dome building at the convention center was demolished in 1990.
