Soldier Field was opened in 1924, and has served as the home of the Chicago Bears of the National Football League since 1971, Soldier Field has a football capacity of 61,500, and is the oldest stadium in the NFL .

The Grateful Dead played their last concerts here on July 8th and 9th before the death of Jerry Garcia on August 9, 1995.
